About Dennis A. Parker, CPA
Dennis has been a certified public accountant for many years and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He continually emphasizes excellence in client interactions.
Dennis grew up in a close-knit northwest side neighborhood in Chicago. His parents owned a grocery store and several apartment buildings, and from an early age, he took a hands-on approach to keeping the family businesses running. By the time he was 20, he had a world of management and leadership experience.
Dennis also faithfully served his country in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. At the time he was drafted in 1968, he had already chosen a business career for himself and was diligently working for a large Chicago accounting firm. After his tour of duty in Vietnam, Dennis left the Army and put his accounting degree from Loyola University Chicago back to work.
During the 1970s and early 1980s, Dennis worked as a financial analyst and accounting manager for two major insurance companies. That experience was valuable, but impersonal; he decided he really wanted to work with small businesses and individuals.
Following through on that desire, he founded his own CPA firm in 1984 — Dennis A. Parker, CPA, Ltd. Dennis still lives within a short drive of where he grew up, and most of his clients live and have businesses in the northwest side neighborhoods he knows so well. He’s convinced the friendships he’s made through his work will last a lifetime.
